Islam and Black Muslims in Europe
Islam is not just limited to a few African countries and Asian countries or the Middle East, there is also a significant amount of Islam and Black Muslims in Europe. Islam has been discovered in Europe as far back as the 12thcentury and it is recorded to have entered into the continent by a number of different methods which not surprisingly includes conquest, as the stories of the religious wars, popularly known as the crusades are known to many.
Quite recently a Muslim community was discovered to have existed in the nation of Hungary as far back as the 12th century and historic records claim the Boszormeny Muslim community, as they were called, has commercial roots in Asia. Historic records reveal more significant Islamic communities that lived through the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, and these communities have played key roles in the history of both nations.
In today’s age the German Institute Islam Archive estimates the current total population of Muslims in Europe during the year 2007 was about 53 million people and that also includes the 16 million Muslim people that are part of the European Union. The largest Muslim immigrant community being the Turks that are now living Europe constitute about 9 million to the population and these figures exclude the Turkish population of the nation of turkey.
