Islam in Africa
Muslims practise Islam and in Africa in particular the religion has spread extremely fast throughout the whole continent with many nations in the past accepting the religion and preaching it to their inhabitants.
Africa
Islam became very popular in Africa in just a short amount of time and has now become one of the most important religions on the continent. With the large number of African countries and an even larger number of cultural diversification on the continent; the religion of Islam has been incorporated into many cultures of the nations who reverted to Islam on a mass scale. A large proportion of the pillars of Islam, the basic tenants of the religion, beliefs and principles of the religion remained the same; cultural adaptations had some small changes on the practices of the religion across different nations of old.
Islam mean peace
African Muslims in Africa are the Black people who have reverted to Islam or were born into it and are now living their life according to the example of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) as laid down in the Quran. The translation of the world “Islam” is peace but over time many of the Muslims in Africa have taken part in War Fisabillah. Allah Subhana Wa’Taa’ala has mentioned in the Quran that it is just to fight under certain circumstances such as in self defense or in situations that the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) found himself in. In modern times many African Muslim countries have engaged in War, some righteous and some not righteous with the only effect being the death of our fellow brothers and sisters, unfortunately this is the fate of some African Muslims in African Countries.
Islam in 7th Century Africa
Muslims and Islam are one of the most populous people and religions on the Earth and also in the continent of Africa. Lots of Muslims are located in the countries in the West, East, Central and Northern parts of Africa which hold a very large Muslim concentration of people. Islam in Africa goes back around to the 7th Century during the time of Prophet Mohammad (SAW). The persecuted Muslims in Arabia, modern day Saudi Arabia were told to migrate to Ethiopia to seek refuge. Once Islam came onto the land of Africa it spread over the next few decades where upon the African Muslim population in Africa grew very quickly with numerous nations and people accepting the new faith. Islam in Africa quickly became the dominant religion of the people as have now found the religion of peace and security, both in this life and the hereafter. Islam and the teaching of the Quran have been instilled into the lifestyle of many Africans and many African countries till this day. Even today you will find a Muslim in each and every country in Africa; this shows you the impact the religion has had on the population of that continent. Islam in Africa and Muslims are here to stay for a very long time with the only other region of Earth having more Muslims being in South East Asia.
